I need to plan a holiday to Florida from Ireland?
I am going to Sarasota in December for a holiday, what airport should I fly from and which airport would be the best to fly to? Which is the closest airport? What airline should I fly with? What is the quickest route that I can I take? Is there anything else that I should knew about booking a flight to florida. Luisaxx

- I'd recommend flying Continental Airlines from Dublin, Shannon, or Belfast to Newark and from Newark to Sarasota-Bradenton. That would be the closest airport to Sarasota and it is one of the quickest routes. Also, you would not have to change terminals in Newark and the fares are pretty good. Hope this helps.
- Sarasota-Bradenton airport is closest, followed by St. Petersburg Airport, Tampa International, and then Ft. Myers International Airport, Orlando International, then Sanford International. Nonstop flights: From Dublin, you can fly nonstop with Aer Lingus to Orlando International (MCO). Globespan have Belfast-Sanford. With petrol in the USA headed toward $4 per gallon, I would probably go for the cheapest flight to Sarasota, then consider hiring a car once settled in. Arriving groggy-headed and facing another 2-3 hours of driving to destination is not my idea of "holiday." http://www.bookingbuddy.com and http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/will help you find the cheapest flights.
